Haskell is a language which has been used in various industries including the banking world Facebook and Google and is what Cardano has chosen to build their blockchain.
The language has strong roots in the universities and has been compared to other languages more othen used in the crypto world like Python, Rust, Solidity, C++ etc
Many would argue that the strength in any blockchain or smart contract is the ability to develop and maintain the code.
Python would be said to have wide appeal and many more libraries to choose from unlike Haskell.
One could talk also of the no-code movement and the increasing power of artifical intelligence in areas like art, music and computer programs including blockchain support programs.
